A confidential report submitted to the late Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo links the DENR Anti-Illegal Logging Task Force led by General Renato Miranda to illegal logging operations in the CARAGA, particularly in protecting the loggers and their backers.
Submitted by a certain Isoceless Otero, Special Assistant to the DILG, the report discloses "disturbing" information about the certain involvement of the DENR Task Force in the illegal logging operations of the region.
It also reported an almost all-out support and tolerance for illegal logging starting from the residents to the local government units (LGUs) due to the scarcity of livelihood sources in the province.
