Why Senator Guingona is against the Cyber-Libel provisions in the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012

This month, the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 was signed into law with a lot of netizens who knew of its provisions shocked to see some vague portions of the act such as the criminalization of cyber-libel, defamation caused by an act of expressing someone's feelings or showing criticism of another person or group through a blog post, editorial article or simple comment.

One of the dangers of this provision is the possibility of engaging into identity theft which could then be misused to intentionally defame, discredit, dishonor, or put into trouble another person by committing libelous acts therefore dragging the innocent person's name into what is feared now by most netizens - online libel.

There are also other reasons as to why Cyber-Libel provisions in Republic Act 10175 should be overhauled, modified and/or amended. Some of those reasons, provided below above as an info-post, were stated by Senator Guingona in his facebook page.
