Top 6 Online (MMORPG) Games in the Philippines

Online role-play games definitely have not spared the Filipino youth from its addictive aura, time fast-forwardness, and appealing challenges. It is through these that game players or gamers are able to interact with other players online, often substituting real-world spatial interaction with the supernatural.

Today I was able to compile six of the most addiction-causing MMORPG games in the Philippines. As temporary alternatives for Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo Chat and intellectual Googling, MMORPG playing still dominates the list of purposes and causes for taking a visit to the internet shop.

1. World of Warcraft (WoW) - a 3D fantasy MMORPG wherein players can choose between two factions,  The Alliance or The Horde, each having five unique races (tauren, orc, undead, troll or blood orves for the Alliance, and human, gnome, dwarf, draenei and elves for the Horde) with access to ten same classes such as warlock, rogue, priest, shaman, warrior, hunter, druid, mage, paladin and deathknight.. It's got a very high player base; in fact, it's one of the most played MMORPG due to its simple game play, vary varied characters, and quest-driven progression route. With a highly customizable interface, it has plenty of content to please casual and hardcore players. WoW serves as the golden standard of MMORPG.

2. Ragnarok Online - Who wouldn't forget Ragnarok Online, whose characters have been portrayed as televised anime adventures. It's got a large game world and huge community, though it has been tagged as "pay-to-play" for years. Players can become rune knights, genetic, archbishops, among others. Cute and cuddly characters await Ragnarok players.

3. Fly For Fun (Flyff) - in Flyff, one begins as a Vagrant who upon reaching level 15 can choose among  four jobs. This is a world where brooms and skateboards dominate while proceeding in the journey fighting monsters hand-in-hand with clan members. Experience rate increases during early year levels, but slows down upon reaching aging levels. The jobs could either be acrobat, assist, mercenary or magician. It's got different equipment and items which could be realistically sold online for huge amounts. Avatars are highly customizable, and players can expect excitement in ground and air battles.

4. Cabal Online - set in a virtual world of Nevareth, Cabal Online makes players choose between three newbie towns and six playable classes. They could either choose as a warrior, blader, wizard, force blader, force shielder or force archer. The game boasts of unique skill combinations and varied environments.

5. RAN Online - here, players get to play the role of students in one of three universities and compete with other students while battling possessed enemies in the campus. Classes include shaman, brawler, archer and swordsman. The initial experience could utilize only physical abilities like hands and feet while taking down enemies that look like people on drugs.

6. Guilds War 2 - "Guild Wars 2 respects your time", says one review by arstechnica.com. In this game, gamers leave their terrestrial life for the heroic experiences that await in the world of Tyria, where World Bosses randomly appear and players effectively beat them out for leveling experience. Guilds War 2 is the game that can be finished in a shorter span of time compared to other MMORPG. Also, the cost associated to playing is cheaper; the game maker only asks for a one-time payment. Moreover, the game emphasizes cooperation rather than competition and skills over gear.

Although these games can actually boost happiness due to the thrill these bring, it is highly advised that players slow down in the frequency of their online gaming. Nevertheless, it should be emphasized that online gaming can act as a reward system, for instance, in enabling students to achieve in class or ace an exam in exchange for their parents' permission to responsibly play MMORPG during weekends.

Play all you want, but make sure you prioritize your future first over self-contentment through virtual engagement. Think about your workaholic parents. Someday, you'll realize how much time you've wasted enjoying your too much while your parents continuously bleed for money just to give you .the good life you manage to dispense.
