Directed by Keishi Otomo, Rurouni Kenshin revolves around the story of a wanderer with an immensely dark past. An assassin, and not yet a samurai, with superb skill during the restoration of the Meiji, Himura Kenshin (played by Takeru Sato) turns his back in the middle of the raging war. His adventure leads him to Tokyo (under 11th year of the Meiji), where he meets a female Kendo master, a former thief, a doctor and a brawler who also have secrets within. Together, they fight off enemies coming from Kenshin's inescapable past.
