Comedy King Dolphy unites big TV networks

The passing of the Comedy King Dolphy will seem to halt TV network wars, for a short period of time commemorating the comical life he shared to the Filipino audience. He served as a reason for everyone in the entertainment industry to unite for a commendable cause.

The "Dolphy Alay Tawa", a tribute musical concert for him, will be held on September 17 (Wedneday) at the SM MOA Arena in Pasay City. This, plus commercials, will be aired simultaneously in ABS-CBN, GMA and TV5 - a first in the Philippine TV's history.

A part of the concert's proceeds are said to go to foundations supported by the Dolphy Aid Para sa Pinoy, Inc. such as Friends of Hope, Inc., Philippine Red Cross, and Eye Bank Foundation of the Philippines. Big stars like Mega Star Sharon Cuneta and Star for All Seasons Governor Vilma Santos are believed to attend this once-in-a-lifetime convergent event.

Ticket prices (donations) are as follows:

  • minimum of P150 for  General Admission ticket
  • P250 for Upper Box ticket
  • P450 for Lower Box ticket
