Business Guide: Register your Business with the CDA (Cooperative)

If you plan to establish a cooperative, you need to get a registration certificate at the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) with address: 6th Floor, Ben-Flor Building, 1184 Quezon Avenue, Quezon City.

In order to get your business name registration certificate for your cooperative, you must satisfy/submit the following requirements:

  1. 4 copies of Economic Survey
  2. Membership count of at least 15
  3. 4 copies of the By-Laws and Articles of Cooperation duly notarized (available at the CDA office)
  4. Undertaking to change name
  5. Undertaking to submit reportorial requirements
  6. Cooperative Pre-Membership Education Seminar Certification
  7. Bond of accountable officers
  8. Favorable endorsement of proper government agency, if needed
  9. Cooperative Annual Performance Report and audited financial statements for them to secure a certificate of good standing
  10. Capitalization of at least P15,000.00 (total paid-up capital)
  11. Registration fees:
    1. Laboratory coop: NO REGISTRATION FEE
    2. Primary coop (P2,000.00 to P50,000.00 up paid-up capital): P500.00 – 1/10 of 1% of the paid-up capital
    3. Secondary coop (P2,000.00 to P50,000.00 up paid-up capital): P1,000.00 – 1/10 of 1% of the paid-up capital
    4. Tertiary coop: P3,000.00
The SEC business name registration certificate, once received, will be valid for 50 years.
