The Philippines is the world’s most emotional society as 60% of Filipinos surveyed were seen as expressive of their feelings, a survey of U.S. pollster Gallup revealed.
According to the survey, taken in 152 countries between 2009 and 2011, Filipinos were the most likely to admit feeling both positive and negative emotions.
The survey, a measurement and comparison of how people feel about their lives, said Singaporeans are unlikely to report feelings of anger, physical pain, or other negative emotions. They’re not laughing a lot, either.
Respondents were asked questions such as:
- Did you feel well-rested yesterday?
- Were you treated with respect all day yesterday?
- Did you smile or laugh a lot yesterday?
- Did you experience the following feelings during a lot of the day yesterday?
- How about enjoyment, physical pain, worry, sadness, stress, anger?
In the list, PH is followed by El Salvador, Bahrain, Oman and Colombia. Singapore, on the other hand, ranks as the world's emotionless society in the world, behind Georgia, Lithuania, and Russia.
