Google entered into the Facebook-dominated social networking world with its release of the Google+ network. Some of my friends have already tried testing Google+ by invitation; there was a positive feedback from them. More likely, Google will succeed in challenging Facebook in the battle for social network supremacy, but it will take a very long time before it will be able to steal a large portion of the Facebook users unless it makes more innovative applications and raises its privacy measures, something every user wants to be assured of.
"Google+ project will feature social circles (+Circles) which allow users to "selectively share with specific groups within their personal network, rather than sharing with all their social connections at once. Other features of Google+ project will include the ability to video chatin groups, display interests, share content on the go, and other options/features that are similar to Facebook and other pre-existing networks."
The way Google packages its social network is one thing to look forward. We'll see in the coming months how more online users will respond to this new wave of networking. Google took risk, and the fight is yet to come.
It will surely be a long way; Google better make "like"-resembling add-ons.
