MAKATI, Philippines – Attorney Lorna
Kapunan has withdrawn as Janet Napoles’ lawyer in the serious illegal
detention case filed by PDAF scam whistle blower Benhur Luy against Napoles due
to ‘differences in opinion’.
The bail hearing is being conducted at the Makati Regional Trial Court Branch 150 where Benhur Luy
and other witnesses have testified.
It was reported that Kapunan did not participate in the court
proceedings Wednesday; immediately, she reportedly resigned as
Napoles’ counsel. She, however, still has yet to make an official statement on her withdrawal.
Janet Napoles, the alleged mastermind of
the pork barrel scam, is presently detained at Fort Sto. Domingo in Laguna.
