War vets in PH to get P22B worth of benefits

A total of $502 million or nearly P22 billion in benefits will be given away to Filipino and American war veterans living in the Philippines, a US Department of State report reveals..

The benefits will be provided by the the Social Security Administrationn and the US Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA).

Moreover, the US government is spending $125 million (about P5.47 billion) on the development and upgrade of its facilities at the US Embassy compound in Manil. This includes construction of an out-patient clinic for the veterans.
