Top Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2014 Movies named

Comedy and horror films topped this year's list of gross-earners on December 25, which was the opening day of the 2014 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

The top four MMFF entries that led Day One, raking in a large pie of the 180 million PHP total sales, were (in no particular order) "The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin" starring Vice Ganda, Vic Sotto's "My Big Bossing," "Feng Shui" featuring Kris Aquino and Coco Martin, and Dingdong Dantes' "Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles."

The MMFF 2014, which targets total sales of 1.2 billion PHP, will run until January 4, 2015.

Dingdong Dantes' "Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles" a box office hit

Dingdong Dantes admitted that he is grateful when his new movie Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles became a box office hit after earning P50 million in 4 days! Production budget estimate hovers around P80 million.

“Kung mayroon talagang dapat pasalamatan, ‘yon ang mga manonood dahil through word of mouth, nalalaman ng mas marami kung gaano ka-entertaining talaga angTiktik, kaya sobrang nakakatuwa.

Co-produced by Reality Entertainment and AgostoDos Pictures, Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles is a 2012 Philippine fantasy horror adventure comedy film directed by Erik Matti. It stars Dingdong Dantes,Lovi Poe, Joey Marquez, Janice de Belen, Roi Vinzon and LJ Reyes.

In TikTik: The Aswang Chronicles, a young man wanders to a remote provincial town in hopes of winning back his pregnant girlfriend. But thoughts of reunion are hindered when he encounters a group of monsters hungry (aswang) for blood.

Critics from ClickTheCity rated Tiktik a score of 4.5 stars out of 5, while users/viewers gave it a highly 4.3 stars.
