Pacquiao refused to include himself in his list as he believes boxing fans have their choices as well. “Hayaan na natin ang next generation na maglagay sa atin diyan,” he told ABS-CBN News' Jay Dayupay.

Where to watch live Pacquiao vs Bradley fight in Manila

On Sunday, the city of Manila will be providing free live viewing service of the fight of Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao vs American boxer Timothy Bradley.

A big screen and satellite dish have been set up at the San Andres Complex, which can accommodate at least 10,000 people, located along San Andres Street. Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada is expected to watch the Pacquiao vs Bradley rematch. Tickets have been released earlier through barangay officials.

AFF Suzuki Cup 2012 Results: PH Azkals vs Thailand War Elephants

The Philippines' Team Azkals bowed down to Thailand's War Elephants once again in their match Saturday night, November 24, in Bangkok during the 2012 ASEAN Footbal Federation (AFF) Cup.

The War Elephants blasted two goals within minutes of each other; the first, at the 38′-39' mark, pushed by Jakkraphan Pornsia, and the second, through Anucha Kitpongsri, at the 40′-41' ending the score in the first half with a 2-0 lead.

Paul Mulders scored at the 77th minute for the Philippines which gave momentum for the Azkals until head coach Michael Weiss was ejected for throwing a ball at Anucha during a dead ball situation, at 81′.

Azkals is set to contend  with Vietnam (November 27) and Myanmar (November 30).

Mike D'Antoni, not Phil Jackson, is new Lakers coach

It's official! The Los Angeles Lakers have called in Mike D'Antoni as their new head coach in a four-year contract. This surprisingly came countering high expectations that Phil Jackson would be making a comeback.

Phil Jackson, who rallied the LA Lakers to five championships, was the early choice.

Other sources allegedly reveal that Jackson’s demands for more personnel control, relaxed travel schedule and higher pay were too much for the Lakers.

There is no information yet on when he is set to begin his coaching job to replace Mike Brown who was fired after the Lakers suffered a 1-4 start this season.

Reports say, Lakers star players Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash approve of his entry into the Lakers team.

The Philippine Azkals look to capitalize on the return of key players when they battle Kuwait in an international friendly tonight at the Kuwait Sports Club Stadium in Kuwait City.

Brothers Phil and James Younghusband, goalkeeper Neil Etheridge and striker Angel Guirado will reinforce the Azkals' bid to end their 10-day Middle East training camp on a bright note.

Confidence is certainly high for the National booters after a scoreless draw with Bahrain on Friday in Manama. The 147th-ranked Azkals' are 32 spots lower than the Bahraini side that once blasted Indonesia, 10-0, in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.

Not even the six-hour delay upon arrival on Saturday night at the Kuwait International Airport due to visa issues seemed to affect the mood of the team that is prepping up for next month's AFF Suzuki Cup group stage.

The Younghusbands, Etheridge and Guirado are back in the lineup against the 112th-ranked Kuwaitis for the 6:50 p.m. local time (11:50 p.m. Manila time) affair after missing most of the recent matches for various reasons.

Etheridge is currently doing a fine role as goalie of the Bristol Rovers in the Football League Two tournament in England. The stocky 22-year-old was brought to the Rovers last month on loan from Premier League club Fulham.

Guirado, on the other hand, is playing for Indian side Salgaocar and hasn't been with the team since scoring two goals in the 3-0 friendly win over Guam at Panaad Stadium in Bacolod last June.

But the most notable absence was the Younghusbands, who were left out of the roster for the Philippine Football Peace Cup by management citing "monetary and non-monetary" issues.

Team manager Dan Palami had a change of heart days after the Peace Cup title win by including them for the Middle East tour. However, the two missed the Bahrain match because of a previous engagement.

The four hope to mesh well with some of the Azkals who made an impression in the Peace Cup in Denis Wolf, Patrick Reichelt, Chieffy Caligdong, Demitrius Omphroy and Jeff Christiaens.

Both nations meet for the first time since last year's World Cup qualifiers second round meeting. Kuwait easily dispatched the Azkals with a 5-1 aggregate victory.

Meanwhile, the Azkals will be joined in Group A by Myanmar after it topped the recently-concluded Suzuki Cup qualifiers in front of its home fans at Rangon.

Myanmar finished with 10 points, three points ahead of second placer Laos which will also make the group stage because of a rule that allows the top two nations in the qualifiers to advance.

The Azkals will also be joined in Group A by host Thailand and Vietnam in Bangkok while Group B comprises of defending champion Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Laos in Kuala Lumpur.

ADMU vs UST Game 2 Results: Ateneo wins UAAP 75 Senior Men's Basketball championship

The Ateneo Blue Eagles made history when they beat the UST Growling Tigers, 65-62, in Game 2 of the UAAP Season 75 Senior Men's Basketball putting a close to the Finals round of the tournament. This grants ADMU the five-peat acknowledgment title.

The spectacularly close Game 2, UST vs ADMU, was viewed by more than 20,000 spectators at the Araneta Coliseum on Thursday, October 11, 2012. The tightness in the scores were imminent in the first three quarters.

With Ateneo's new mark in UAAP basketball today, Norman black joins Baby Dalupan as star coaches with five wins or more in the league’s history.

In a post-game interview, Black credited UST for putting up a good fight in the Finals. The winning coach said he already predicted since the start of the season that UST was a team to beat.

Nico Salva was named the Finals MVP for Season 75.

NBA 2K13 now in the Philippines

You're reading it right! The highly anticipated NBA video game simulation franchise, NBA 2K13, is now out in the Philippine market through the partnership of X-Play Online Games, Inc. and  2K Sports. 

The basketball video game is now available in the Philippines for Playstation 3 (P2,595), Xbox 360 (P2,495), Portable Playstation (P1,895) and Windows PC (P1,995).

Beyonce's partner and hip-hop master Jay-Z, who served as the game's Executive Producer. provided inputs in so far as designing the interactive menus, the introduction of the game per se, and a whole lot more. Aside from that, he is also responsible for its 24-song soundtrack.

Some features of the NBA 2K13, which introduces the control stick, are the following:

• Actions such as dribbling, shooting, and other movements have been inputted to the right analog stick.
• One can now make use of and combine all kinds of basketball tricks designed to surprise the oppoent.
• There is an increase in the number of shot selections.
• Un-lockable extras such as jerseys and the like or increase the stats of the team may be done via player purchase. 
• There will be a match-up between the 1992  Dream Team and the 2012 US Men's national team.
• Each player has unique signature skills that could prove to be a game-changer.

Filipino boxing title holder Denver Cuello forgets title belt inside taxi

The current WBC Silver Minimum-weight title belt holder, Denver Cuello, accidentally left his much-coveted title belt inside a taxi he rode in from Cubao last night.

The Filipino champion, with a record of 32 wins, 4 losses, and 6 draws, boarded the taxi from Cubao and went to a mall along Sumulong Highway in Pasig.

The Filipino boxer was not able to get the plate number of the taxi. He is now calling the attention of anyone who has seen his belt to return it to him.

Ateneo (ADMU) Blue Eagles crush UST Growling Tigers in Game 1 of UAAP 75 Senior Men's Basketball Finals

The ADMU Blue Eagles defeated the UST Growling Tigers, 83-78, in the Game 1 of the UAAP Season 75 Finals (Senior Men's Basketball) on Saturday, October 6, at the bleacher-full SM Mall of Asia Arena.

Nico Salva snatched a personal high of 30 points and led the Eagles to their 1st game winning, while UST's top player Jeron Teng for the game took 25 points.

UAAP 75 Senior Men's Basketball Finals: ADMU vs UST

TV network ABS-CBN released a teaser to the highly anticipated UAAP face-off between the Ateneo Blue Eagles and the UST Growling Tiger, ADMU vs UST UAAP Senior Men's Basketball Finals. The two teams will play once again in the Finals after their 2006 match.

ABS-CBN is said to air Game 1 of the UAAP Season 75 UST vs ADMU at around 3:00 PM this Saturday (October 6) . UAAP 75 Men’s Seniors. Basketball Finals Game 1 will also be aired live in BALLS HD 167, TFC Bro, TFC TV.

UAAP UST vs ADMU Game replay will start airing at around 9 PM on Studio 23 and at around 10 on BALLS SkyCable Channel 34 later that game day. The UAAP Senior Basketball Finals match ADMU vs UST will also be 

streamed live through the UAAP Sports live streaming site of Studio 23.

Philippine Azkals rank higher at 147th in FIFA rankings

The Philippines (through the Philippine Azkals) has improved in its rankings at 147 (with 178 points), a record high for that matter,  in the Coca-Cola FIFA Rankings.

The country’s ranking at 147th is the highest obtained by the Philippines since the day the national football rankings have been published

The Philippine Azkals' victory in the recently held Philippine Peace Cup pushed up their ranking three spots from 150th, boosted more by their previous victory against Singapore.

The Philippines is now at a tie with Kazakhstan at the 147th  spot in the FIFA rankings. The Philippines is still behind Thailand (139th) and Vietnam at (140th). ASEAN economic giants Singapore and Malaysia tied at the 162nd place.

Topping the FIFA rankings list are Spain, Germany, Portugal, Argentina, England, Netherlands, Uruguay and Italy.

The Philippines also stayed steady at rank three among its Southeast Asian counterparts in the Asian Football Confederation.

The Philippine Azkals are currently undergoing preparations for the upcoming AFP Suzuki Cup 2012 which will be held in Thailand. These include joining training camps in the Middle East including FIFA-sanctioned games with Bahrain (115th) and Kuwait (112th)

Phil, James Younghusband asked to return to Azkals

The absence of Phil and James Younghusband in the Azkals could finally be over.

The Younghusbands, who were dropped from the roster for the Philippine Football Peace Cup, were recently included in the list of players, for this October's Middle East training tour, released by the Philippine Football Federation (PFF).

"After careful consideration, the management has decided to include Phil and James Younghusband in this training camp. Both siblings remain assets to the Azkals and remain part of the team. The training camp should be a good venue to hone a stronger team with an even better chemistry on the pitch," Azkals manager Dan Palami announce on Facebook.

The list serves as an invite, but it is yet to be known if James and Phil will accept it and play in Kuwait and Bahrain, aside from the fact that both Younghusbands are still held by their football club Loyola Meralco Sparks who are in Singapore for the first leg of the Singapore Cup semifinals against the Tampine Rovers on Thursday.

Crowd favorite Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Kings out-shot their opponent, newcomer Global Port Batang Pier, with a double-digit win 110-90, in the opening match of the 38th season of the PBA at Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sunday (Septembe 30).

Batang Pier took a 2-point lead in the first quarter of the game, but was smashed by the Kings in the succeeding three quarters. Quarter scores, in favor of the Kings, are 24-26 (Q1), 31-25 (Q2), 29-19 (Q3) and 26-20 (Q4).

Key players include game top-scorer Mark Caguioa and star-transferee LA Tenorio who made 9 rebounds and 10 assists in his debut play.

UAAP Season 75 Finals, ADMU vs UST Game 1 Ticket Prices

Game 1 of the Finals match in the UAAP Season 75 Men's Basketball tournament between ADMU Blue Eagles and UST Growling Tigers will be held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on Saturday (October 6) at around 3:30 PM.

The Arena is expected to be filled with die-hard Ateneo and UST supporters. Only around 1,500 tickets will be available for sale. The ADMU vs UST Game 1 ticket prices are as follows: 

• PATRON (50 pcs) - P350.00
• Lower Box (200 pcs) - P300.00
• Upper Box (500 pcs) - P175.00
• Gen Ad (700 pcs) - P100.00

UAAP Finals Game 1 tickets will go on sale Wednesday starting at 8 AM. Selling of UAAP Finals tickets will strictly be available at the Coral Way ticket booth at SM MOA Arena. Ticket reservation is NOT allowed. Number of tickets to be sold per person in line will be two, with additional documents (student/alumni ID or college diploma ) to be presented in order to buy.
