Pet Fair Philippines Photos; Upcoming Pet Shows on December 8!

At least 80 bettas were judged during the Mini Friendship Cup of ABA.
This one won a place in a certain category!
I actually went to the 2nd Pet Fair Philippines held at the Starmall Edsa-Shaw last November 24-25, but I unfortunately forgot to take pictures. However, one of the members of the Circle of Hamster Owners of the Philippines (CHOP) managed to share to me the photos she took personally and/or grabbed from peers.

Here are the pictures of what happened in the Pet Fair Philippines 2. All photos credited to Miss Ruth Avelino and the photographers (Sir Aeking) behind it.

And as promised, there were pets on display such as wonderful bettas, birds, gerbils, guinea pigs, hamsters, hedgehogs, mice, snakes, tarantulas and tortoises.

This one's a fat-tailed gerbil owned by a CHOP member, Sir Caezar.
I got to hold it; definitely, one of the CHOP's exhibit stars.

A roborovski hamster, the smallest of all hamsters, takes shelter under
the drinking bottle. Hope  you spotted it!

Visitors wander around different exhibits. This is the CHOP exhibit.
They produced hamster care sheets which deemed really helpful for first-time hamster owners.

This, apparently, is a snake (ball python?).
I was able to place it like a scarf around my neck. Not scary though.

These chubby creatures are hamsters. I think these were imported from Europe just for the exhibit.
They' really resemble big fur balls. Thanks to El Kapitan Hamstery for bringing them in the PH.

This is the HamVille exhibit set up by Sir Baych of HamVille and friends from the Hamster Lovers Organization (HLO). Different colors of hamsters were  on view here.

These are the hamster care sheets of CHOP.

A bird sits calmly atop a hamster bin. This green-colored species  has been tamed; that's why it does not fly away . It's easy to tame birds, really. :) You just have to understand them and how they take defense in a new environment.

A guinea pig! I got to see a lot of these in Pet Galore's buy-and-sell area.
The booth they had displayed for-sale pet accessories and treats.

On December 8, Saturday, another pet-related event will take place this time in Quezon City. Dubbed as the Hamster Pet Show and Exhibit, it will be a hamster competition which will be conducted at Jackman Plaza, Munoz, QC. The event proper will commence at 4 PM and end at 6 PM; however, an HLO-CHOP exhibit of hamsters may be viewed at the venue starting at 10 AM.

During the 4 to 6 PM time slot,  anyone can join the raffle for 10 Php per raffle entry only. More entries, more chances of winning!

There will be no entrance fee to the said event, and to those who will be bringing with them their hamsters as show entries, there will be NO a registration fee as well.

For the revised mechanics of the hamster pet show, proceed here. Awards to be given away include Best in Show and Best of Breed. Other special and minor awards are at stake, including Darling of the Crowd (People's Choice), Heaviest Hamster, and Best Pattern. Registration starts at 1 PM and ends at 3 PM.

The Hamster Pet Show and Exhibit is one of three-event package offered to you by various pet organizations in what they call as the PCFI Nationals, an Integrated Show with PEHSi, CHOP, and HLO. The two other shows set to take place in the same venue will be the National Guinea Pig Show (conducted by the Philippine Cavy Fanciers Inc., PCFI) and the 2nd Hedgehog Fun  Show (spearheaded by the Philippine Exotic Hedgehog Society Inc., PEHSI). CHOP and HLO are partners in the said hamster show.

The Spotlight Philippines blog admins are, once again, glad to take part in this event.
