Teachers and Department of Education (DepEd) employees may now be able to claim their GSIS (Government Service Insurance System) benefits which include their retirement benefits and monthly pension.
The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) announced Wednesday that it has released P3.46 billion to cover 50 percent of the government's P6.92 billlion share in unpaid GSIS premiums for public school teachers and other DepEd workers.
The unpaid premiums coverage starts from July 1, 1997 to December 31, 2010.
