Government websites to be defaced anew Monday by hacktivists Anonymous Philippines

Fresh from its attacks on websites of MWSS, BSP (Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas), IPOPHIL (Intellectual Property of the Philippines), DENR Region 3, PAPT (Philippine Anti-piracy Team) and a unit of DOH, constituents of the hacktivist group Anonymous Philippines attacked new government websites Sunday.

Prior to an expected "Bloody Monday" attack, at least five website defacements have been made Sunday, - one on the sub domain of ProjectPartners.PH, one on the Batangas City website (which redirected to the sub-site of CHED Region 1), and another one on the Agusan del Sur website. The NBI website and Tarlac City website were also reportedly hacked. Non-governmental sites have also been attacked including an online unit of the Lorma institution and a personal site JonathanMacagba.com.

Which sites might be the next targets? Anonymous Philippines members hinted on their Facebook Pages of the possible websites which might be attacked on Monday. These potential site targets include sites of NBI, DOST, and Bureau of Customs.

The Anonymous Philippines membership voiced out their protest against the signing into law of the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, or Republic Act 10175, which is believed to be the most dangerous, potentially freedom of speech-suppressive  online-focused law which could target online users, cyber-activists, bloggers, and journalists through some of its provisions pertaining to online libel among others.
