UP Diliman USC Elections 2014: Arjay Mercado to lead ALYANSA-dominated USC in 2014

Standard bearers Arjay Mercado and JP delas Nieves won this year's University Student Council elections for the top two positions, Chairperson and Vice Chairperson, respectively. The party, to which both of them belong, ALYANSA also took 7 of the 12 coveted USC Councilor positions. ALYANSA successfully makes its comeback in UPD's political dominion with its tag #BagongUSC.

The blue's tandem beat STAND UP's Erra Zabat and Neefa Macapado, and KAISA's Carla Gonzalez and Ram Tomaneng. Voter turnout this year is 48.07% or 11,626 of 24,188 votes, lower than last year's 48.4%.

Independent candidates led the USC Councilors list with Jethro David (4,286) and Raymond Rodis (4,136).
