The Supreme Court on Tuesday stopped the implementation of the Republic Act 10175, otherwise known as the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
The high court justices unanimously issued a temporary restraining order (TRO) after it was flooded by 15 petitions complaining against some provisions of the Cybercrime Law which were deemed unconstitutional. This specifically pointed out provisions include provisions on freedom of speech, right to privacy, equal protection of the law, double jeopardy, and illegal searches and seizures.
