A college student hanged himself after failing to attend his school's graduation rites in Cebu City Thursday.
The victim, identified as Jovan Vincent Miaña, 22, took up Marine Engineering at the University of Cebu.
A Bombo Radyo report revealed the victim sent a suicide note to his parents, friends, and even to his girlfriend, where he said he will end his life because he will not march along with batchmates in their graduation.
The victim's mother, Victoria Miaña, was shocked of the incident because their son did not tell her anything regarding his problem with his studies.
The report further said that the victim's parents event went to the city this morning to attend the expected graduation rites of their son. The parents still hope to know from the administration of the university the reason why their son failed to graduate.
